BBC Orders Raft of Nature Shows

The BBC will build on the extraordinary success of Blue Planet II by airing two documentaries about challenges facing the environment and a landmark series in which animals are followed for over two years.

BBC1 documentary Drowning in Plastic will explore the damage that the synthetic material is causing the environment – an issue raised by Sir David Attenborough in Blue Planet II. Viewers will see in more detail how plastic is getting into the ocean and what damage it is doing.

The other documentary,The Truth About What You Wear, will investigate the impact of the clothing industry on the environment and wildlife.

Meanwhile, Dynasty is a new wildlife series with episodes following a group of lions, African hunting dogs, chimpanzees, tigers and emperor penguins as they try to build a family or group.

It is expected to be narrated by Attenborough who also narrated the BBC1 2016 juggernaut Planet Earth.
